Tribes 2

Tribes 2
Overall: 4
Graphics: 5
Interface: 4
Multiplayer: 5
I have been playing Tibes for ages, waiting for Tribes 2 to come out, wondering what they could possibly do to improve upon the original. To say the least, I was impressed when my copy finally arrived.

Graphics/Display:

Number one improvement from the original, support for NVidia graphic cards. The graphics are much better, with support for almost every card on the market. The only glitches I have seen were with a VooDoo 5. For some reason, even with the lastest drivers installed, water graphics would glich badly. On a VooDoo 3, this wasn't a problem.

Interface/Controls:

The interface is your typical keyboard and mouse combination. As usual, the keyboard keys can be re-assigned, but I don't recommend you do it until you have completed the training missions, and you are familiar with all the available commands.

Multiplayer (if any):

What can I say about multiplayer? This game was designed with multiplayer in mind. It flat out rocks! Both LAN and Internet are supported. This game makes teamwork a must. A Lone Wolf won't last long! One thing that I instantly fell in love with: No more waiting for someone who can't make up their mind at an Inventory Station. Now, you make your decisions ahead of time, step into the station, and instantly (ok, it still takes about 2 seconds), your transformed into a light, heavy, medium, sniper....whatever! Much, much better than hearing "hurry up with that station" while your trying to grab everything you need.

Summary:

If you enjoyed the original Tribes, you will love Tribes 2. The graphics are sweeter, there are more vehicles, the maps are better, and for offline practicing, there are even built in Bots with adjustable AI. A fine addition to any FPS gamers collection.
