Freespace 2

If you ever played Decent Freespace and enjoyed it then you should find Freespace 2 entertaining as well. Everything is basically the same as the orignal and the whole Space Simulation scene. The key differences in this installment of the Freespace series is interaction and even better graphics. While playing missions the developers have fully immersed you in the experience of this game. While the storyline so far for me is unchangeable, it certainly is entertaining. It takes away from the same old "go kill and come back to home base and watch a cutscene unfold" situation. In fact, I think most of the plot actually comes out during gameplay. For some reason though, I have already started to lose interest in the game and I thouroughly enjoyed the first one. Maybe it is just real life(tm) not allowing me to play multiple games at once because I can find little to pick on for this game.

Graphics/Display:

Superb. Weapon fire is the best. Ships are detailed and the capital ships are the best I've ever seen in a space simulation. The Star Destroyer in the Star Wars series has met it's match in a big way. No lag, no chop. Everything is just smooth and great to look at.

Interface/Controls:

Good but sluggish. Seems like fighter duels should be faster and quicker but seem to always lead to you just getting on their Six and knocking the bad guys out of the sky. Nothing very special.

Multiplayer (if any):

x

Summary:

A quality game for graphics and story-telling. Definantly the same ol thing in most other areas though.
