Recoil

When the demo came out I recall making everyone I knew download it to check out the graphics this game displayed. I really liked the concept considering there are very few tank games I can think of that are impressive if entertaining. I would love to see a single player or LAN playable version of Tanarus (c) Sony Interactive.

Unfortunately, in the time it took this game to be released I have been dazzled by the wonders of 3DFX in a multitude of recent new games. So now when I look at Recoil, I see Quake graphics with restricted movement (tanks don't have grapples). Don't get me wrong. It's a good game that doesn't have a big learning curve. I tried playing this with the joystick/keyboard combo and think it might be an better idea to switch to the mouse for better dexterity.

I haven't got very far in the game so I can't give a decent gameplay review but the graphics were solid and I found no bugs or glitches with my current Voodoo II drivers. I didn't even see if there was a multiplayer function but if there is than this might be worth keeping around to blast all your pals with.
